Come make the one
after this.

Ordinal is our attempt at something that may only be possible right now. In a few years, the way people interact with computers will already have been set in concrete, and most people will forget that there was ever a choice.

In a world where a person with an idea can outsource the doing to a machine and receive a finished product, we were promised flight, and yet all we get are lines. Modern systems simply lack the capability and compute and bandwidth to run at the speed of thought, and so your thoughts are forced to wait. Thoughts that exist in limbo for far too long become thoughts that you never had.

This cost is priceless. We believe it is most of what a person loses in their career.

On the outside, we may look like a cloud company, but we would disagree. We do not rent machines and we do not own GPUs. We have the sole mission of saving people's time, and large portions of their lives, so that they may work on meaningful things and pursue the things that they value most at the speed of thought.

Our industry talks as though our history is five years long, and our world speaks as though it will end tomorrow. Neither, we believe, is true. Everything being made right now has followed something, and everything being made right now is what something will follow.

Nothing you make here will be the first, and nothing you make here will be the last. We believe that is real freedom.

We like to think that everything worth making is ordinal, and we hope you'll come make the one after this, with us.
